Doesn’t launch any more

I have been using DOSBox Staging for a long time, without issues, but now it doesn't launch any more. No Window nor full screen shows up.

Running flatpak repair didn't make any difference
Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't make any difference.

Ok, I do not have any such issues running the flatpak on Fedora 43. Do you know when it broke? You can see the commit history here: https://github.com/flathub/io.github.dosbox-staging/commits/master/

The largest one would be the runtime update on October 5th.

I'm wondering if it is because you are still using x11.

I think it broke, after the update in October.

Installing DOSBox Staging, in a virtual machine, running Linux Mint 21.1, gives the same result as above.
However, if i Install DOSBox Staging, in a virtual machine, running Linux Mint 22.2, it runs without issues, so it looks like, it can no longer run in Linux Mint 21.1.

You could try to git pull this repo, revert the runtime version changed, and run the run.sh script to build it as mentioned in the README.md file to see if the runtime update caused it.

How do i revert the runtime version changed?

Something along these lines:

git clone --recursive https://github.com/flathub/io.github.dosbox-staging.git
cd io.github.dosbox-staging
flatpak install flathub org.freedesktop.Sdk//24.08 -y
vi io.github.dosbox-staging.yml

Now change the runtime version from 25.08 to 24.08 and run:

./run.sh

If all went well, you should have another DOSBox-Staging flatpak installed.

Yes - i can now confirm, that after reverting the runtime, from 25.08 to 24.08, DOSBox Staging works in Linux Mint 21.1.

Note: I had to use the flatpak version of the flatpak builder.

But calibre, Mediainfo, Microsoft Edge and Zoom uses runtime version 25.08 and works well.

They may be using the same runtime version, but it is unlikely they are using the same components of the runtime. And even if they do, they will likely use different parts of those components. A runtime consists of many components. For example DOSBox-Staging uses the SDL2 component, which the others will not.
