F2000 Support

Hey there,

I recently got an F2000. I don't have a ton of experience with all the tools involved, but I'm interested in trying to provide the data mentioned in the docs to add more telemetry sensors and possibly controls. Based on what the app can do over Bluetooth, it seems like it should be possible to add a little more than is currently supported.

Please let me know if you're interested! No worries if not, I appreciate the functionality already in the library and HACS integration :)

@straub Sure, the more sensors the better, I wrote a guide in the docs which explains how to go about decoding values in the data, the docs aren't perfect but they should give you a good idea.

The basic concept is that you run the program while looking at the debug logs and try to correlate values you see in the logs with things you can see on the display or app. E.g if you start a timer in the app then start the program, look for a value that ticks down in seconds in the logs and that value is probably the timer, or if you want to find what the AC output status is, look for a value in the logs which is 1 when the AC output is on and 0 when the AC output is off, its a process of trial and error but it does work.

Adding controls is quite a lot more complicated, but I have tried to make it as easy as possible. You could try using the existing controls for the C1000(X) and see if they work, there is a decent chance they use the same commands.

If that does not work then you need to build a patched version of the Anker app which is modified to dump all of the packets it sends to the device into a log file, and then look in that log file to see what commands the Anker app sends to perform that thing. There is a guide in the docs which explains how to do it and both a Windows and Linux/MacOS script for patching the app. If you have any issues following the docs, don't hesitate to reach out, it's all rather new and probably imperfect.

You might also want to look at the other issues and PRs where other people are adding or have added support for other devices, it should give you an idea of what to do and quite a few common questions have been answered there.

Through a quirk of fate, it looks like I might get access to a C1000 Gen 2 and C2000 Gen 2 in the next couple of weeks also. Hopefully I can get the process down and contribute practical results for them all!
