Title. I am trying to sign up and want to paste link instead of scanning. I think it makes sense to support

Can you add this issue to one of milestones? Either it is planned in the Q2, or it is in backlog and you don't think you want to spend time on this

Hi, yeah, I think I can take this task. Before I get started, I'd need a bit more context on the business requirements and use cases — could you point me to where I can find that information? Also, what about design mockups — are there any available?

@d0qew that's something we should write about somewhere, but we don't have any designers yet. And I am not sure whether we will get any. Because design is different across platforms, it's liquid glass for iOS, material 3 expressive for Android and whatever for Web.

Look at it like it's your pet project. In that case no one also provides mockups and it's a part of engineering, I think. I am bad at design, but I am trying to find some references in existing applications and then after release someone will come up to us and suggest a better way to do things, and we will listen and improve the app.

Kind of iterative process.

Regarding additional info, it was my issue, so I can give you some details.

When you download the app (you can do that from TestFlight already) or when you build it and launch for the first time it can be convenient to have possibility to paste link there instead of scanning QR Code.

Thanks for the clarification! In that case, here's the approach I'd suggest:

1. I'll prepare mockups in Figma
2. Then I'll put together a description of the basic business rules
3. I'll open something like an article where I'll outline the business rules and include the mockups
4. Once the iOS team has approved the proposed mockups and solution — I'll raise a pull request

Right now it's just about adding a single input field on the existing screen. What instead of figma mockups just write a swiftui code and attach screenshot in PR? I think it might be easier for developers to create mockups directly in code, right?

Screen already exists and business rules pretty clear (at least for me). There's no way to paste link right now but should be.

To be honest I think you can raise additional questions now if you have some and then just start with PR. It should be easy to iterate since not much code are going to be affected by this change. That's just my opinion tho.

Initially I was thinking that a separate screen might be needed to let the user choose between "paste a link" or "scan a QR code", but looks like it's simpler than I thought. Agreed on SwiftUI code + screenshot — that sounds even more convenient.

One question: what about URL validation on the device? Should we show an alert if the entered link is invalid? (I think yes)
If any other questions come up during implementation, I'll reach out.
