TL;DR — Be respectful, be constructive, use good judgment. That's it.
GameGuild is built by people from all over the world, with different backgrounds, experience levels, and perspectives. That's our strength. This document exists to make sure everyone feels welcome and safe to participate.
- Be kind and respectful — even when you disagree.
- Critique ideas, not people — focus on code, design, and decisions.
- Give constructive feedback — clear and helpful, not sarcastic or dismissive.
- Assume good intent — ask for clarification before assuming the worst.
- Stay on topic — keep discussions focused on the work and the community.
- Harassment, threats, or intimidation of any kind.
- Personal attacks, repeated hostility, or deliberate humiliation.
- Sexualized language or unwanted sexual attention.
- Sharing someone's private information without permission.
- Repeatedly disrupting collaboration after being asked to stop.
Everywhere GameGuild happens: repositories, issues, pull requests, discussions, Discord, events, and any public space where you represent the project.
Maintainers will act to protect the community when needed. This may include editing or removing content, closing threads, rejecting contributions, or restricting access.
When possible, enforcement follows this progression:
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Private warning |
| 2 | Temporary restriction |
| 3 | Permanent removal |
Maintainers may skip steps in serious cases.
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior:
- Reach out privately to a community leader on Discord
- Include context — links, screenshots, or descriptions help us act faster
- Your report will be handled discreetly — we take privacy seriously
No document can cover every situation. Maintainers will use reasonable judgment with one goal: keeping GameGuild a respectful, productive, and welcoming place for everyone.
