Restart/reconfiguring Sentry SDK without restarting application

We're trying to integrate Sentry into our application. It's a requirement for us that we can reconfigure the Sentry SDK while the application keeps running. Is this something that can be achieved with the current Go SDK?

Unfortunately, we don't really design our SDKs with re-init in mind. What is the use case that you have in mind, and what would you want to reconfigure?

The software we install cannot simply be restarted, as it's mission critical for our customers. When a customer is experiencing issues, we would like to increase the amount of information that's sent to our systems for that specific customer in order to aid debugging. For others, we might want to disable the Sentry SDK completely, or turn up the sample rate temporarily. We already have a functional setup for this using OpenTelemetry, but I haven't seen an equivalent way to do this using the Sentry SDK. Is there anything that can be done regarding this setup?

For changing the sample rate the recommended way would be to re initiate the sdk, but that's somewhat expensive, so not really the solution you're looking for. We might revisit this in the future to support a dynamic config, but can't make any promises right now.
