First launch in landscape looks like stuck loading screen

I just downloaded Pixelix on an Android device, and I had my phone sideways when I launched the app. Greeted with what can be seen in

I waited about 5 seconds, thinking this was a loading screen, slower due to first launch. There's no input visible to indicate the app is ready to be used.
