Description

I noticed a difference in the order of logos.
The first four logos (including the website logo) do not seem to change order. The rest seem to switch occasionally.
Examples:

Is it possible to set a fixed order? Alphabetically, by P number, or by usage.
I looked for it but couldn't find where the sorting took place.

As far as I can tell, the order is the same; it is just that the second example has some accounts the first one does not that come in the same set order.

The first one has:
web, X, Instagram, Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn.
The second:
web, X, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Flickr, Mastodon, LinkedIn.

Note that the order of web, X, Instagram, Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn is the same in the second example as in the first.

Mmm, you're right.
But why is LinkedIn in last place, when it was there from the start?

None of the options I came up with apply.
Not alphabetically, not based on the order in “social-icons.html,” not based on usage, and not based on property number.

It doesn't really matter, but I'm trying to understand the logic behind it.

It was in the last place first and stayed in the last place. I don't see what is odd. Think of the first one as: web, X, Instagram, Facebook, {YouTube}, Flickr, {Mastodon}, LinkedIn where two values were empty.

The order is based on what the account_data.rq returns, which is sorted alphabetically by PropertyID.

Ah, I see... so if we add the Threads or Bluesky logo, will they appear before X? (if we look at your example)
Wouldn't it make more sense to sort them by platformLabel?

we order by property to ensure a consistent order, we use the URI as its incremental ID is the best indication of "importance" we have

Agreed. It was also a way to let the community decide the importance, but as you say, the social media landscape has changed, so perhaps we should rethink this.
