Proper font file #2

Hi! First of all, thank you for your work. It’s really fun and I hope I’ll have the opportunity to use your font and your typesetter.

I saw that your font is saved as PNG files in the font/ folder. I don’t necessarily do all my stuff in LaTeX or on the web, so having a proper font file like a .ttf or .otf would make MiniGent available on all the softwares I use. Font files are quite flexible on how you want your font to behave with scaling and other variables so it would be displayed as you envisioned.

If you’re not familiar with typography tools or if you don’t want to work on it, I can do it myself. I am not free at the moment but maybe in the near future I could have some time to work on it. It would be great then to modify your website so the file is readily available for everyone to download :)

I would also like to notice you that there exists an opensource license tailored for fonts and typographic works named the SIL Open Font License. (there is also a FAQ) It’s closer to CC BY-SA than CC BY, but it is widely used and people who are familiar with typography would understand what they’re allowed to do with it. Especially, it has a clause on using a different name if someone creates a derivative of your font, which would avoid name clashes. However I understand that you would like to stay on the CC BY.

I hope you’re doing well in those trying times. Cheers,
Nano
