Project description: building on this paper; it seems fair to assume that predictability and surprise unfold over time when listening to a story. As an extension, I aim to use entropy (derived from word embeddings of GPT-2) as a time series (i.e., the tokens in the podcast transcripts will be tagged with their entropy scores); next I aim to explore whether narratives build more uncertainty (higher entropy) towards their conclusion or maintain a consistent level of predictability throughout. Finally then, I would like to correlate this data with fMRI/ECoG data to identify brain regions and networks associated with processing moments of high or low entropy.
