- -

Note: - On July 2, 2014 the Government of Canada repealed the requirement for pre-registration of construction materials, packaging materials and non-food chemicals used in federally registered meat establishments through changes to Regulations that are administered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). As a result, the CFIA no longer requires industry to pre-register construction materials, packaging materials, non-food chemicals and working apparel in the Reference Listing.

Guidelines on how to search the Reference Listing

+

This database is organized into entries by category. Each category is identified by the usage + of + its products (e.g. cleaners, lubricants, containers, etc.). Each category is then divided into sub-categories + which break down specific accepted usages for products (e.g. hand cleaners, lubricant with incidental food + contact, container for non-food contact, etc.).

+

Search by Category

+

Step 1: Select a category from the drop-down list of reference categories.

+

Note: If you would like a list of all products for all categories in the database, please select “select + all” + and use the “Next” button, which is below the table, to see the following pages. Please note that selecting all + categories will generate a report containing all entries.

+

Step 2: Select a sub-category from the drop-down list of sub-categories. + Please + note that choices for sub-categories are dependent upon your first selection of category and therefore will vary + between categories.

+

Note: If you wish to view all products in your category, you need to “select all” under sub-category. +

+

Step 3: The database will produce a report of the requested material and this will appear on + your screen once completed. The report lists the product names and includes the company name and the date of + acceptance of each product.

+

Step 4: If you click on a company name, you can view a list of all products in database from + that specific company. The report includes the product name and acceptance date, as well as each category and + sub-category in which the product is classified.

+

At any time, you can begin a new search again by clicking select a category in the drop-down list. This will + refresh your search.
