New solution for paste command

I noticed the paste command does not work in cc 2018 or 2020. Seeing the code isnt that old, i wonder how you do got it working. In most browsers document.execCommand('paste') has been taken cause of safety rules. I would have thought older version of illustrator would still show this command working. But i dont see anything being pasted into that target?

I noticed later this week that on my old mac running 2018 cc it does actually work. The paste works nice. But on my Windows 2020 system running illustrator 2021 it does work.

The paste command is hold back. Only actual pasting something in works works.
