Thanks for the request. Before we start implementing support for the Sagemcom Giga Hub FAST 5689E, we need the modem support data from our template.

Please provide the information requested in the Modem Support Request template, especially:

• manufacturer and exact model number
• firmware version
• ISP
• DOCSIS version
• modem web interface URL
• authentication type
• screenshot of the DOCSIS status page
• HAR capture from a clean browser session, including the full login flow and the first requests that load modem/channel data

For login-protected web UIs, the HAR must include the actual login exchange, not only requests after you are already logged in. If GitHub blocks .har, please upload it as .har.txt or .zip.

Without that data, we can't build a reliable driver for this modem/firmware variant yet.

Hey @smokey007, thanks for the HAR file!

I took a look at the data and noticed something important. The FAST 5689E (Bell Giga Hub) appears to be a fiber (GPON) gateway, not a DOCSIS cable modem. The key indicators from your HAR capture:

• The device exposes Device/Optical/Interfaces and an ONTSerialNumber (Optical Network Terminal), which are fiber-specific
• There are no Device/Docsis/CableModem paths in the device data model
• The DOCSIS version field in your earlier reply was left blank

DOCSight specifically monitors DOCSIS channel data (downstream/upstream frequencies, power levels, SNR, error counters). A fiber gateway doesn't have these metrics since the connection uses light over fiber rather than RF channels over coax.

Could you confirm:

1. Is your internet connection delivered over coaxial cable or over fiber optic?
2. Does the modem web UI (http://192.168.0.1) have a page showing DOCSIS channel status with downstream/upstream tables (frequencies, power levels, SNR)?

Using DOCSight with fiber

If it is a pure fiber connection, you can still use DOCSight by selecting the "Generic Router (No DOCSIS)" driver during setup. This gives you access to all modem-agnostic features:

What works:

• Speedtest monitoring (scheduled + on-demand)
• BQM (Broadband Quality Monitor)
• Smokeping latency tracking
• BNetzA Breitbandmessung integration
• Weather correlation
• Journal / event log

What won't be available:

• DOCSIS channel monitoring (downstream/upstream power, SNR, error rates)
• Modem-specific device info and connection details
• Channel-level diagnostics and alerts

So DOCSight can still be useful for general connection quality monitoring, just without the cable-modem-specific insights.

I am using the latest version of DOCSIS.

It is fibre and there is a statistics page that shows Bytes sent/ Received and Packets sent/received.
