Came across this and looks like a very interesting idea/feature.

Just wondering what is the overall status of this project?

And overall, do you think Python Script as Document Object something that could/should become a core feature?

It's usable for general purpose calculations, 2D profiles and 3D shapes. See its tests.

It misses some polishing of the user interface

• I'd like to expose an easy way to add properties, list existing ones, etc, from the task panel. Currently there are only placeholders and you have to use the somewhat hidden in "Add property" actions from the context menu of the property editor.
• I'd like to persist the "allow execution" state per document and script hash and update it when the user changes a script which is allowed to execute.
• I'd like to offer a configuration panel where you can change those persisted settings.
• I'd like to expose FreeCAD's internal Python editor control to the python world to finally replace my current stub.

The current readme is basically my original ideas collection rather than a reflection of the current state. At least that needs to be updated before exposing this to the Addon Manager.

And overall, do you think Python Script as Document Object something that could/should become a core feature?

Finding out whether this is a good/feasible/wanted idea is the main purpose of this WB. For my style of working is certainly is, but not everyone approaches CAD modelling like programming ;-)
