Polling interval

Hi, I have just started using the mios node and I have added some of my zwave thermostats to nodered. The devices do eventually update but some times it can take an hour or two before nodered gets the CurrentTemperature value. Looking at the debug log the devices are active and sending other data but is there a way with the module to force a poll of a specific value of to have it poll based on a timer set in nodered itself ?

This node only handles the events from the mios unit and right now that's a read only communication. Perhaps you can set how often the device should report it's values via mios web interface, probably via a parameter to the device.
When the node is started we get the current values but I didn't send that value out because it could trigger unwanted behavior in other nodes (ie button status that start things) but I can see a need for this when it comes to temperature values. So I leave this issue open.

I have put a work around and am just calling the vera api if the thermostat hasnt reported in a given period of time. Maybe a nice feature or expansion of your mios node would be to add a function option where you could call specific api values from the vera, im not a coder but can tweak code and looking at your current implementation, i think you have most of the code there already, you just have to add the function wrapper around it. I use something similiar at present for a php app i use for polling thermostats, getting battery status, last poll, wake times etc.

While not the same, I think it’s related. It would great to be able to check that the device details (Room:device:variable) used in the node/flow is correct.

Currently I have to wait for something to occur or do something to force the variable to change, which when you are tracking temperature readings, it’s not easy :)

Not sure it it is possible but having a way to build that that room:device:variable via a drop down list would be cool. That way you can instantly see the required data.
