The status bar item always shows Paste Mode: Markdown etc., which takes up space — especially with multiple status bar plugins.

A "Status bar display" toggle to show or hide the labels. Or a setting box to customise.
Describe alternatives you've considered
A new "Status bar display" setting with three options:
- Original — current behaviour (Paste Mode: Markdown)
- Shortened — compact labels (PM: MD, PM: TXT, etc.)
- Hidden — hides the status bar item entirely
