A question about your paper

Hi jieyu,

I have a question about your OOPSLA'12 paper. Sorry that this may not be the right place to post, but it seems that there's some problem with you email address.

At the first two lines in page 488. It's noted that "I5=>I3 needs to be exposed before the bug can be triggered." What does this mean?

Hi,

This is a condition that is implied by I2=>I5, thus should not be part of
an iRoot.

Thanks. I agree on that. But my question is what do you mean by "before"? Is there anything I was missing?

Yeah, the use of "before" here is a little misleading.

It means I5=>I3 is a necessary condition for the bug to be exposed, but
since I2=>I5 is sufficient to expose the bug, we don't include that in the
iRoot.
