All the assets are not compressed enough. It took my browser like 20 seconds to fully load the site. We should have it load in < 2 seconds on 300 kb/s -- the entire site should be 600kb in size. You can go a long way with compressing the images in the site -- that's what makes up hte bulk of the space anyways.
