No MIDI input for builds

MIDI inputs work in the editor but not in builds. I have tested on both MacOS and Windows11. Is there a special setting for builds that is required?

I was able to make this work on a Mac by changing the build target from intel and Apple Silicon to just apple silicon.

Windows: Please close the Unity Editor before running the build—most MIDI drivers are single-client, so the Editor will keep the device open and the player can’t access it.

macOS: Yes, building Apple Silicon only typically resolves this.

@keijiro I am seeing a similar issue on Windows builds when using Unity's new Input System. In editor the midi input works, but in builds it only works when I directly check if a midi note was pressed. All the paths I hooked up in my Input Asset References do not work in builds.

EDIT:
This issue is specific to IL2CPP builds. Everything works as expected in Mono builds.

Essentially in my builds it's remapping the paths
Note 37 shows up as note 37 but with a path of 124
Note 39 -> 122
Note 41 -> 120
etc.

I believe this is because of how IL2CPP is handling the fixed byte array and overflows in the MidiDeviceState line 144 public fixed byte notes[128];

@jfisher993 I tried to reproduce the issue with this project, but I couldn't. Could you explain what "All the paths I hooked up in my Input Asset References" means, or could you share a minimum project that can reproduce the issue?

@keijiro The sample project you setup looks good with the input bindings and settings. I was using Unity 2022.3.62f2 which might make a difference.
