Issue
Currently, buttons and links that open in a new tab don’t visually indicate that behavior. This can be surprising or disorienting for users, especially when many links lead to external community sites (e.g., Meetup groups). Clearer signposting would help manage expectations and support user autonomy.
Proposed Solution
Add an arrow-up-right-from-square Font Awesome icon to the right of buttons, links, and calendar links that open in a new tab.
Considerations
Adding the icon to every external link (e.g., all Meetup group links) might look cluttered. One option would be to try adding the icons first and reviewing then how it looks visually.
If it feels too busy, copy could clarify that these links open in a new tab instead. For example:
Open DevOps Meetup in a new tab
Opens in a new tab
Links lead to respective meetup groups
etc
