Resampling of 2D Bifrost snapshots

I want to resample a 2D Bifrost snapshot of dimensions (nx, 1, nz) to e.g. (2nx, 1, 2nz), but I get the error message

Error: Found grid cell where center y-coordinate is not larger than lower edge coordinate

Is it possible to overcome this problem somehow? Or do I have to add another grid-point in the y-direction?

I think it's safest to extend to 3D by adding one or more grid cells in the y-direction (with the same values as in the 2D snapshot), since the resampling code was designed for 3D and will probably assume you have enough points along each dimension to perform interpolation.
