weird lag between playback and waveform with *first* stereo recording (sometimes)

This seems to happen specifically on the first stereo recording, at least when done on a partition other than the first one?

For right now, to deal with it, we can just re-record (i.e., overwrite) the slice. Usually, later recordings (after script load) work fine.

Another possible solution is to make the first recording on the first partition.
