Hello, would like to cross compile ntl but ./configure doesn't allow --host. Any advice on this?

Hi! Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, cross compilation is a feature that is badly missing from NTL. You are welcome to try to do something to change that! One obstacle is that the configuration script currently compiles and runs a number of programs to figure out some things about the platform and to set compilation flags accordingly. I'm not sure how to do that for cross compilation.

Hi I want to install ntl library for riscv64-unknown-linux-gnu-gcc complier. Changing it in configure file is not working. Does anybody have any leads on how to install it?

Unfortunately, cross compilation does not really work. The problem is that ./configure runs the compiler and executes programs to test certain features. Some day I need to figure out how to do this properly.

Hi! Is there any other way to tweak and use the NTL library? like for example like flattening it or something for source code? without running these steps? I understand this method takes time but I don't have any alternative as of now.

For example, the build system generates some header files with macros whose definitions depend on things like bits per long, etc. Moreover, the logic cannot easily be modified done purely at compile time with ifdefs….There are other run time checks that are performed…some of these are there to avoid relying on header files that may not be present on certain platforms…but with c++ standardization improving, this is less of an issue. I should really look into this some day…On Apr 21, 2023, at 1:22 AM, Sai Manish ***@***.***> wrote: Hi! Just repackage with Meson or CMake. Maybe an LLM can even rewrite the perl configure script.
