Where To Live In Seattle

Seattle has a lot of great neighborhoods that are often defined by the geography of the city as well as characteristics unique to each area. Deciding where to live can be a reflection of who you are, where you work, what sort of commute you like, and how you like to spend time away from work.

Generally, the further you are from downtown the more residential the neighborhood. With the exception of Lake Union, the closer you are to water, the more residential.

Find out more information about specific neighborhoods here.

Live/Work Neighborhoods For Tech

Major tech employers in the Seattle area can be found Downtown, Pioneer Square, Fremont and the Eastside.

Finding A Place To Work

Now that you've figured out a place to work and how to get around, it's time to find a way to pay the bills! There's some online resources available such as Craigslist, <a href="www.monster.com>">Monster and Indeed that are helpful to use if you're searching for specific positions. Seattle also has its own job listing board called Seattle Jobs that lists openings around Seattle in all industries and professions.

Seattle's minimum wage is gradually increasing to $15, so if you find a job in the first few months of your arrival you hopefully won't end up homeless on the streets! There are several large companies that are based in Seattle such as Amazon, Starbucks, and Nordstrom. These Fortune 500 companies are all headquartered in the Seattle metropolition area and employ large quantites of people. Check out each of their websites for possible job opportunties. Good luck!
