🔒 Commercial Licensing Terms Addendum for Recursive Identity Framework (RIF)

This project is licensed under the Elastic License 2.0 (ELv2). While the source code is publicly available, use of RIF in any revenue-generating, hosted, or derivative service offering requires prior written approval from the author.

✅ Permitted Without Commercial License

  • Internal use within an organization
  • Academic research and non-profit exploration
  • Derivative works for personal or non-commercial exploration
  • Redistribution of source code (with attribution) not offered as a service

🚫 Not Permitted Without Commercial License

  • Use of RIF in any Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product
  • Embedding RIF logic in hosted agents, commercial AI platforms, or agentic middleware
  • Integration into any platform monetized by offering cognitive or identity-based automation to third parties
  • Rebranding or commercial relaunch of derivative works without explicit written permission

🧠 Why These Terms?

RIF is not merely a framework. It is a recursive identity model intended to guide the development of self-simulating, symbolically aware agents. These terms preserve its evolutionary integrity, ensure ethical use, and protect it from premature commodification.

We welcome collaboration, innovation, and iterative improvement—but not exploitation.
