Hello,
I’m not sure if this is the right place for this, but I was looking for a suggestions channel or something similar.
Recently, I came across a European server promoting violence, drugs, and other illegal activities or highly controversial figures (to put it politely). I don’t come across servers like this every day, but when I do, I think it’s serious. There should be a “report” button to alert the Luanti community when a server promotes illegal or harmful activities.
I don’t know if it’s possible for you to prevent such a server from being listed, or to report it to European authorities or other legal entities if the situation is severe. This functionality is really missing. It’s the kind of feature I would love to see in 2026.
Protecting the community and ensuring that such servers are at least not registered in the Luanti community should have been addressed long ago.
I understand that you all work hard to improve the game, but what’s the point if servers are promoting truly harmful things like pedophilia, drugs, mass violence, or figures like Hitler?
Luanti should now tackle this issue, which affects both the reputation and the future of the community.
It’s time to protect players — children and adults alike, wherever they are. Luanti has strong European roots with developers like celeron55 and rubenwardy, but the responsibility goes beyond that. Let’s not look the other way. Let’s face this issue!
Luanti needs a way to alert or remove a server from the list if it violates European or international laws regarding child protection, glorification of crime, terrorism, or other extremely harmful content.
This is not about reporting a TNT prank — this is about genuinely serious matters.
Thanks for your consideration on this

Hi rubenwardy,
I understand that the server list is technically separate and that contacting the hoster is an option. However, the server list is part of the core game itself — it appears in the formspec when players open Luanti. It’s not an add-on, plugin, or optional package that users have to seek out. This means that every player sees these servers by default, including children and new users.
Because of this, I feel the community and core developers have a responsibility to ensure that obviously harmful or illegal content does not appear in the default list. Providing a “report server” function or some moderation mechanism inside the game would be a practical and meaningful step.
Directing players to GitHub is not a sufficient solution. Many users, especially children, don’t have emails or GitHub accounts, and casual players may never even know that platform exists. An in-game reporting system is the only way to make reporting accessible to everyone who encounters harmful content.
It’s not about taking legal responsibility for what the hoster does — it’s about protecting the player community and ensuring that Luanti does not inadvertently expose players to extremely harmful content.
I hope the team can consider implementing a system to alert or remove servers from the default list if they clearly violate laws or community safety guidelines. This is urgent for the reputation and future of Luanti.
