Game freezes on keypress

Awesome work, it will be a best-seller in no time. While playing I've hit something strange: if you keep a key pressed the game will freeze until you release it. Is it something to be expected?

Indeed pressing a key prevents the pieces (tetriminos) to fall down. While this feature was useful to test the game, it is not the expected behavior.

I need to think of the best way to solve this issue, by splitting the keys handling, and the drop speed, which will increase with the level of the player.
