Scanning/importing existing library folders

I am taking my first steps currently with MM..
Does MM support automated movie/tv show imports? (I saw the discussion regarding all movies in one folder, this is not the case here).

I am happy to write some docu as soon as things start working on my side.

just found this project and love it so far but agreed the option to import existing media into Media manager would be fantastic
