Calling code on startup

Need an interface to execute code on application startup

What is your use case for this?

Starting a batch process. initialization some files, or any other calc I want to perform at the start of the application. ServletContextListener can do the job.

@metamug2 shouldn't the ApplicationListener extend ServletContextListener for this to work.

No the application object will provide startup context. We don’t want developers to add servlet context dependency when adding this dependency. So far we haven’t used servlet-api as our dependency.
