Publish on F-Droid?

While we wait for the app on Google Play, could you publish the app on F-Droid? It's a 3rd-party app store that lets you download FOSS applications.

I'm familiar! As of now, it's not something I'm super interested in as it requires a lot of setup, and I don't have a lot of time to dedicate to this project. If someone else is interested in collaborating with me to get all of that set up, I am glad to cooperate though.

Glad someone else brought it up, as this is what I came here to propose enabling for the app. Based on my quick perusal of what the process entails, I'd recommend ignoring the stock F-Droid repo in favor of IzzyOnDroid. The stock F-Droid client is trash, so anyone using Droid-ify, etc will already have their repo pre-registered.

For transparency's sake, there's also the option to have users manually add your repo into their client config, but that's just asking for more PBKAC headaches.

Either way, what this would entail for you, @micahlt is to accept my pull request (once I finish the baseline structure) to add a fastlane structure to your repo, and probably a GitHub action to automate the process in the future.

The fastlane data is like any Scoop or WinGet manifest in that it provides / defines all the typical app info, screenshots, release info and changelogs you see on any F-Droid app entry. The GitHub action would be to create the new changelogs and release info before you tag a new release.

The other major step is to just register the app with IzzyOnDroid, address any issues they find via APK scans and such, then they'll automagically propagate your new releases.

It's effectively as simple as drawing an owl
