[question] `files.files` structure

Hi there, I have recently switched my config to use dendritic nix, and as part of that have incorporated flake-file and files to make everything in my repo reproducible as well.

When working with files, I ended up creating a wrapper around files which mimicks environment.etc/home.file, under files.file.<name>.{source,text}. Is there a reason why an API like this wasn't chosen for this project, instead choosing to have it be a list? Additionally, would it be useful to contribute this alternative API to this repo?

Thanks for all the great work on dendritic nix, your infra flake was a great inspiration for my config. :)
