New hosts pay the API bills, and a surprise bill is the fastest way to lose them. Before inviting outsiders, document — in the README/website getting-started path, before the first mind is created:
- Which providers/keys are supported and which are required for the default template.
- A rough per-day cost range for an active mind vs. a mostly-idle one, and what drives it (turn frequency, context size, MEMORY.md growth, schedules, sleep).
- How the token budget bounds spend, and how to set it (
volute.json token budget, sleep schedules).
