Use-case page: self-hosted cloud dev environments (Coder / Daytona alternative) #42

Description

@stubbi

Context

Strategic priority B: durable, forkable workspaces as on-demand dev environments on infra you control. Coder isolation is network and RBAC, not hardware, and gates AI governance behind paid add-ons; Ona (Gitpod) is now OpenAI-owned with a vendor control plane; Modal cannot self-host. Mitos is the OSS, Kubernetes-native, hardware-isolated answer.

Deliverable

  • A page with the claim-to-URL hook (mitos workspace claim -> environment URL) and the install one-liner.
  • Air-gapped / regulated framing (defense, finance, gov): code, prompts, and model traffic never leave the perimeter.
  • Before/after framing in the Coder style ("week-long setup to instant access").

Links

  • Backed by mitos-run/mitos A2 (workspace claim to URL).
  • Part of the use-cases hub (C1).

Done when

  • Page is live with the dev-environment hook and the regulated-industry angle.
