Copied text gets cleared when clicking backspace at the start of line 1:1

Describe the bug
Copy a text and paste it into the editor. After that, click on backspace at the start of a word in the first line. The entire line is getting cleared.

To Reproduce

1. Paste text into the editor.
2. Place the cursor at the start of the first line.
3. Press the backspace button.
4. Observe that the entire line gets erased.

Expected behavior
Pressing backspace at the start of the first line should not clear the entire line
