"Unable to connect" when connecting to MongoDB URI (URI works with other apps e.g. MongoDB Compass) #1286

Description

@dancherb

When clicking to connect to the URI of a database I have on MongoDB Atlas, I instantly see an error "Unable to connect". This happens with all external MongoDB URIs but not localhost MongoDB URIs. There is no loader or "attempt to connect" - the error instantly appears. I can connect to this URI just fine using MongoDB Compass or my application itself.

This bug has persisted for several weeks and appeared at the same time as a recent major update which changed some of the UI when making queries.

Removing and re-adding the MongoDB URI connection does not fix the "Unable to connect" bug. It is successfully added to the list and then immediately shows "Unable to connect" again.

(Another major bug is that this UI no longer shows query results and just displays a blank screen - needless to say the extension is currently completely broken for me and I've been using MongoDB Compass instead, though it's not as good. For localhost, connection is successful but the "blank screen" bug appears when querying. Rolling back to a previous version of the MongoDB extension fixes the "blank screen" bug but not the "Unable to connect" bug.)

I'm on Windows 11, latest version of VSCode, latest version of extension.
