Why only GPT???

I have been using this extension for a few weeks now, and it’ a really helpful tool. The AI cover letter feature is next-level work.

I just wanted to share a thought or suggestion: why does the platform mainly support GPT? It would be better if it worked with multiple AI providers as well. Different users have different preferences when it comes to LLM models, so expanding support would improve flexibility and overall user experience.

I tried DeepSeek V4 Pro, and it worked really well for me. It’s also very affordable (around $1 per month in my case 😅). There are also free AI models available in the market that could be provided to users without requiring an API key.

Overall, I think supporting multiple AI models instead of only GPT would be a great improvement for the platform, giving users more choice based on their needs and budget.

Hey @imran-baitham, that's a great point and to be honest I don't see why we shouldn't have other models to choose from especially given how frequently new models are released and improved.

Feel free to open a PR with the implementation. One thing I'd ask in advance however to not waste your time and efforts - it'd be great to have a more broad range of models to choose from given that once switching functionality is there, it should be trivial to add another models.

I'd suggest to use AI SDK, more specifically gateway.getAvailableModels() to list models selection.

If you don't have time or willingness to do it, that's also totally fine, just say so and I'll add it to the to do list.

Sorry for the late reply. It's Muharram, so I haven't been able to spend much time online.

I am currently juggling client work, learning new things, and a few personal projects, so I can't promise anything right away. That said, I'll take a look at the issue starting tomorrow and see what I can do. If everything goes well, I'll share an update and hopefully open a PR related to this feature.

Looking through the codebase, it's clear you've built it really well, and I feel this feature would fit nicely into the project.

I am glad I could at least share the idea. Hopefully we'll get the chance to collaborate on this or another open-source project in the near future. I would really enjoy contributing once I have more time.
