My name is Sabiya Jamadar, and I am from India. I would like to contribute based on a creative and community-building approach.
Currently, I am pursuing the Open Science Trainings – Open Science Essentials course. I have already completed the Top 101 Curriculum for Open Science. For me, it was quite challenging to discover such opportunities, as Open Science is not openly discussed or promoted in most Indian universities. I only came across it through LinkedIn and by connecting with individuals who were already engaged in this field.
After completing the course, I shared my experience with my juniors, who have also enrolled and benefited from it. However, I have noticed a gap — there are no dedicated communities or platforms at the university level in India to support Open Science awareness and practice.
Through this contributor program, I would like to bring this issue to notice and propose a platform or initiative where I, as a volunteer, can gather students, share resources, and create awareness about Open Science. India has a vast student population engaged in research and projects, and by making their work more accessible and open, we can contribute meaningfully to the global Open Science movement.
Thank you.
