[New Feature Request] ROSA HCP support for ESC (European Sovereign Cloud) regions #174

@davdunc

Description

@davdunc

Which service is this feature request for?
Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS

What are you trying to do?
Enable ROSA HCP (Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS - Hosted Control Planes) in the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) regions to support enterprise customer managed cloud service deployments with data sovereignty requirements.

Describe the solution you'd like
ROSA HCP should be available in all European Sovereign Cloud regions with full feature parity to existing ROSA HCP deployments in standard AWS regions. The solution should meet all European data sovereignty and compliance requirements, including GDPR and local data residency regulations, and be documented in the regional availability matrix.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • Deploying ROSA Classic instead of ROSA HCP (less optimal for managed service requirements)
  • Using ROSA HCP in standard European regions (does not meet all sovereignty requirements)
  • Delaying customer deployments until ROSA becomes available (impacts customer timelines and adoption)

Additional context

  • ESC regions launched but ROSA service was not included in the initial service offerings
  • Enterprise customers in ESC regions require ROSA HCP for managed cloud service deployments
  • Roadmap item to be filed for tracking
  • Timeline for ESC region ROSA availability has been requested from account teams and customers.
