I added an example of how to replicate what argopy does with R; just the data munging that we did. Getting the data off ERDDAP is easy, but argopy has a "standard" user mode that creates "science-ready" data for non-experts by making various QC choices for us. The R example shows how you can back-engineer that. |

4/9 will be an introduction to getting Argo data with the Python argopy package and reading with xarray. I will cover getting data from https://www.aoml.noaa.gov/argo using the argopy. The format of Argo data, how to filter to just surface data (or other depths), how to do a big data query in batches and save intermediate netcdfs.
Open to all (in and out of NOAA) so feel free to share link.
