5/1 will begin a series of four sessions on working with larger than memory data. Today we will explore using the HYCOM model data on AWS Open Data using Kerchunk to create an xarray cube of all the data. We will use that to quickly do time series analysis over the whole dataset. This will use some notebooks from Rich Signell, our June 5 speaker. Note, we'll have 2 sessions on VirtualiZarr also, which is replacing kerchunk but learning kerchunk will introduce the concepts around virtual Zarr stores for cloud-optimized larger than memory data.
Open to all (in and out of NOAA) so feel free to share link.
