OsmAnd on CarPlay freezes after tunnel

Description

A user reports that OsmAnd does not recover after GPS signal loss when used via Apple CarPlay.

The GPS signal is lost inside a tunnel, which is expected. However, after exiting the tunnel, OsmAnd on CarPlay remains frozen and does not reacquire the GPS signal. The user must close and restart OsmAnd to restore navigation.

The same route works correctly when OsmAnd is used directly on the iPhone screen without CarPlay. Other navigation apps, such as Google Maps, also recover normally after the same tunnel.

This situation occurs for the user when they drive through a tunnel near the coordinates 45.55343, 11.39410

Steps to reproduce

• Connect iPhone to CarPlay using a cable.
• Start navigation in OsmAnd Carplay

Actual result

• OsmAnd on CarPlay freezes.
• GPS/navigation does not resume automatically.
• The issue remains until OsmAnd is closed and restarted.

Expected result

• After exiting the tunnel, OsmAnd should reacquire GPS and resume navigation automatically on CarPlay.

@zipav We have investigated this issue and attempted to reproduce it under various conditions:

1. Real-world drive testing inside tunnels (tested at coordinates 48.14242, 13.99041 and 48.10621, 14.01808).
2. Lab & hardware simulation using a Carpuride head unit and manual GPS signal cuts via iOS system settings specifically at your reported location (45.55343, 11.39410).

In all our tests, OsmAnd successfully reacquired the GPS signal and resumed navigation immediately upon exiting the tunnels.

Since CarPlay routing behavior depends heavily on the vehicle's hardware environment and iOS background restrictions, could you please provide additional details to help us isolate this edge case?

1. Car Details: What is the exact make, model, and year of your vehicle (or aftermarket head unit)? (Note: Wired CarPlay often forwards the car's built-in GPS/dead-reckoning data to the iPhone, whereas standalone units like Carpuride rely heavily on the phone's internal chip. This distinction is critical for this bug).
2. iPhone Screen State: Was your iPhone screen turned ON (showing OsmAnd in the foreground) or locked/turned OFF while inside the car during the freeze?
3. iOS Location Settings: Go to iOS Settings > OsmAnd > Location. What permission is selected (e.g., Always / While Using), and is the "Precise Location" toggle enabled?
4. OsmAnd Profile: Which navigation profile were you using (e.g., Car, Truck) and what are your map rendering settings for it?
5. Map Data: What is the exact version/date of your downloaded Italy Veneto offline map?
6. Battery: Was your phone in Low Power Mode (battery icon yellow) during the drive?

If the application completely freezes or crashes during this event, iOS usually generates a system log. Please check if you have any relevant .ips files:

1. Go to iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data.
2. Look for any files starting with OsmAnd... (or system-wide freezes like Periodic- / stacks- matching the time of the incident).
3. Export the .ips file and attach it to this issue.
