"Unload" sometimes opens new phantom tabs (FF5, 2.1b2)

Let me explain. This mostly happens the first time you load up the browser after a reboot. When you try to unload a tab, it doesn't work. The tab stays loaded, and a new tab opens (at the end of your tab list) that is grayed out, has the same title as the tab you tried to unload, and (as I recall) is completely unresponsive when you try to load it. It's a weird bug. It only seems to do it the first time you start up the browser after rebooting the computer, and it goes away after you restart the browser. A minor annoyance, but one that should be corrected.

I have this problem or similar. When unloading a tab it creates a new unloaded copy of itself, pinned tabs at the end of the pinned tab list, others at the end of the normal list. I have only noticed it since upgrading to FF 6. As with other unloaded tabs, the tab needs manually reloading. I assume the manual reload aspect is working as designed.
