When editing panels, position & selections randomly glitches & changes.

Reproduction

I'm going to look into this later.

It has always prevented me from using panels entirely. I'm not sure on a diagnosis, but I can reliably reproduce it:

1. Adding a panel to the desktop
2. Edit the layout of the panel ("enter" it)
3. Now create a "nested" panel, inside a panel (or if necessary, try even a third layer of nesting)
4. Add some items. Move them around, resize them, modify their properties, etc.
5. Notice:
   • desktop zoom & position will occasionally reset
   • selected items are also unselected
   • might happen more frequently with more items, or more panel layers

• I've experienced this on several devices now, for years (a Pixel 2, Pixel 3XL, and Pixel 4a5g).
• More "layers" of nesting seems to make it happen more
  • but I think this will also happen with any nested container (because it seemingly happens with just a single panel in a desktop sometimes)

• some logcat output attached (obtained not - idealy with a rooted android app)
