[Bug]: Git commit time-out

Steps to reproduce

1. Have a slow pre-commit hook (just add a sleep or something)
2. Create a commit using the UI button

Expected behavior

The commit is created after the hook completes

Actual behavior

I get a timeout error in the UI

Sure. I simply commit and I get this:

On a related note, I've also noticed that commits are not signed, even though they should be according to my git config.

Yep. And the hook does not fail. Or at least it doesn't when I run it. It just takes a while. Typically somewhere in the 30-40 seconds range.

Yes. I expected something like this. And that's what this bug-report is about. Disabling the pre-commit hook isn't an option.
