Scenario plug-in for consequential database

Hello community! I would like to use the scenario plugin available inside activity browser (AB) to create consequential database for the future. I see in the "premise" the following:

"Some imported inventories cannot be directly linked to the ecoinvent consequential database. To address this, a mapping file is provided under https://github.com/polca/premise/blob/master/premise/data/consequential/blacklist.yaml which proposes alternative candidates to link to the ecoinvent consequential database."

Is this also taken care automatically if I use the scenario plugin in AB?

Hi,

This plugin is meant to make use of Premise databases in Activity Browser easier. Instead of creating a new database with premise, ScenarioLink allows you to download and install pre-generated databases (provided you have access to an ecoinvent database in that project) as Fold datasets. That means you will not have to worry about details like this mapping file.

You can see all databases available in ScenarioLink when you open the plugin.

Works. Thanks. I have a follow-up question related to this plug-in. I am looking to use three background scenarios from remind. I dont see an option to keep them all three as one database. Rather it creates 3 different databases with three different SDF. I would like to run my LCA under these three background remind scenarios for a set of years (2025-2050). It seems like I need to model the process thrice? Or I am missing something?

For now, that is indeed correct. Unfold does not have such complex databases currently, if you want to use such databases, you will need to use Premise itself.

What you can do is to have one 'master' database, and then once you want to calculate for all scenarios, you can duplicate it twice and then re-link them to the other two background databases. For this to work, you must only use processes that occur in all three, or the relinking will not work.

Here's what I did: (activity-browser 2.11.2; scenariolink 0..1.6)

1. created a superstructure database (A), based on ecoinvent conseq. 3.10, remind SSP2-npi
2. made some new activities in A
3. copied (A) -> (A_copy)
4. created a superstrcuture database (B), based on ecoinvent conseq. 3.10, remind SSP1-ndc
5. tried to relink (A_copy) to B

@YuKa90 I have a different problem now. I tried to select the second background scenario and create the second database but it gets me something else from a cut-off model. I am not sure what this problem could be and I don't know how to resolve it. Now I am trying to use the premise tool.
