The idea is to find the best focuser position to observe bright targets defocused.
Proposed Solution
Using the base of the autofocus routine we could set a safe counts number for a defocus observation without saturating, e.g 50k counts. Then for the bright target do something similar to the auto-focus routine but to find the focuser position for that given target that allow not saturated observation. Then after the observation of the bright target we could just run the autofocus routine or recover the previous focuser position to observe back in focus the next target.
