Hello Prometheus community,
Under the new Prometheus governance, we are holding a bootstrap election to seat the first Steering Committee.
TLDR / Action items:
- Anyone who is a maintainer of
github.com/prometheus and github.com/prometheus-community repos / projects is eligible to vote and stand in the elections.
- Nomination period until 8 June 2026. Voting between 15 June – 29 June 2026
- Ensure your email is available in MAINTAINERS.md of the relevant repos
- Opt-in to receive a ballot at https://civs1.civs.us/cgi-bin/opt_in.pl
All 7 seats are up for election. The 3 highest-voted candidates will serve 2-year terms; the next 4 will serve 1-year terms, establishing the staggered cycle going forward. The canonical voters list is derived from accounts with write access across the prometheus and prometheus-community GitHub organizations:

If you are a maintainer of a github.com/prometheus or github.com/prometheus-community repository, you are eligible to vote — but we can only reach you if your email is public. Please make sure your repository has a MAINTAINERS.md listing you with a contact email. If you believe you should be eligible but are not on the list, you can also submit a review request before 12 June 2026 23:59 UTC at: https://forms.gle/tasSbJ9cQdsfj5GV9
All existing prometheus-team members are automatically eligible.
Voting will be conducted via CIVS (Condorcet Internet Voting Service),
using ranked Condorcet with Instant Runoff Voting as the tie-breaker.
Voting is private — nobody, including the Election Officers, will know
any individual's vote.
