Code of Conduct

Introduction

The Dev Pocket project is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all contributors, regardless of their background or experience level. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for all participants in our community, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in our project and community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of:

  • Age, body size, visible or invisible disability
  • Ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression
  • Level of experience, education, socio-economic status
  • Nationality, personal appearance, race, religion

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes
  • Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for the overall community

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing others' private information without consent
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate

Enforcement Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior. They will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all project spaces, and also applies when an individual is officially representing the project in public spaces.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the project team at devpocket@example.com.

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. All project team members are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.

Enforcement Guidelines

Project maintainers will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:

  1. Correction: A private, written warning providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate.
  2. Warning: A warning with consequences for continued behavior.
  3. Temporary Ban: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community.
  4. Permanent Ban: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.

Community Guidelines

For Contributors

  • Be respectful: Treat everyone with respect and kindness
  • Be constructive: Provide helpful feedback and suggestions
  • Be patient: Remember that everyone is learning and growing
  • Be inclusive: Welcome newcomers and help them get started
  • Be collaborative: Work together to build something great

For Maintainers

  • Lead by example: Demonstrate the behavior you expect from others
  • Be responsive: Address issues and pull requests in a timely manner
  • Be fair: Apply the Code of Conduct consistently and fairly
  • Be transparent: Communicate clearly about decisions and changes
  • Be supportive: Help contributors succeed and grow
