Polish: Block rendering

Some ideas:

• It looks like VSCode picks a primary color for each block of consecutive characters not separated by a whitespace rather than matching every character to its color. Should try it and see how it looks compared to what we have
• We could also try reducing whitespace character width by 50%, would have to make adjustments in other renderers as well so this would be pretty tricky.
