I am the one who asked for more explanation on your stack exchange post. Why would this be considered an anti pattern?

By doing it that way, it complicates the ability of the parent to interact with the markup generated by each iteration. Mostly telling them apart, communication to and from, and state awareness. The use of a child component encapsulates each iteration of the loop with the functionality you come to expect from LWC. It just makes things cleaner.
