Using effect as hover effect for CMS image without 2 input images

Is there a way to use this as a hover effect for a portfolio collection? Where I can input the same CMS image as image1 and image2. I tried putting the .div_name for the image1 and 2 inputs instead of an image link.

Has anyone achieved this before?
